If you’re unsure what “Megaramp ASA Triples” is, we’ll help you! For one night only, BMX pros from the X Games will compete in a series of unique head-to-head battles while taking on the challenge of the 195-foot long Triples course, consisting of a 25-foot high roll-in ramp, two 25-foot wide jumps and a course-ending 14’ high quarter-pipe. The pros will amaze you with mind-boggling flips, whips, flairs and spins while attempting to take home the event title.

The pros scheduled to battle it out at Kansas City’s Sprint Center are: Ryan Nyquist, Pat Casey, TJ Ellis, Zack Warden, Brett Banasiewicz and Seth Klinger.

The event takes place on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at 730pm. For the uninitiated–a little background on two of the athletes. Brett Banasiewicz–he’s the #1 ranked BMX dirt rider right now.  At only 15 yrs old, his recent Sacramento win is his 4th win of a major competition this season.  He does a trick called the “cash roll” and he is the only person to do it successfully in competition. He recently made history by doing a double front flip to win the Augusta ASA Triples title earlier this year.  In a nutshell, he’s the man to beat right now!

There’s a local connection to one of the riders, too. Seth Klinger is originally from Winfield, KS and has been riding BMX since he was 13.  He entered his first pro contest in 2004 and is scheduled to “come home” to KC at October’s event.   A few fun facts about Seth:

• he sometimes has a hankering for bacon cheeseburgers and loves his LG phone!
• his music preferences include Dare and Notorious
• his favorite trick is the “three superman seat grab”
• if he wasn’t riding BMX…he would be hooping it up on the basketball court!

Doors open at 630pm.  Tickets range from only $15 to $65 and we have: a) 8 tickets (two 4-packs) to give away, and b) a promo code for discounted tickets purchased online!

This is a world premiere musical based on Samuel Clemens’ memoir of the same name.  It’s not Huck Finn or Tom Sawyer, but an autobiography-type production geared toward middle-school aged kids and older.  It runs through February 28, 2010.
