Kansas City Area 4th of July Fireworks – 2011

It’s that time again! 4th of July, Independence Day, Fireworks in Kansas City – 2011 style! I can’t believe that June is coming to a close…

Lots to do around the Kansas City metro this Fourth of July Weekend. The Royals are out of town again but you can catch several fireworks displays out at CommunityAmerica Ballpark in Kansas City, KS after the T-Bones play! They will have fireworks after June 30th game, the July 3rd game and the July 4th game.

  • Mahaffie 19th Century Fireworks and Olathe Civic Band Concert – 6 p.m. – Join the Olathe Civic Band for a concert followed by 19th century fireworks by the Olathe Fire Department. Bring your lawn chairs, blanket and picnic dinner to enjoy this patriotic celebration. After the concert, enjoy a special 19th Century Baseball presentation. Fireworks will begin at dark.   • Legacy Blast, Legacy Park, Lee’s Summit, MO – food, inflatables, entertainment and FIREWORKS! – gates open at 6pm
  • 11th Annual Sports Radio 810 WHB Pyro Party 2011 at Falcon Ridge Golf Club, Lenexa (just north of K-10 & Woodland) – Activities for the entire family: Hot air balloon rides for purchase; Lu Lu the Clown; a moonwalk and other activities for kids; Smoke ‘N’ Fire will be cooking; food and drinks available for purchase; fireworks at 9:30; Between the Lines with Kevin Kietzman will be broadcasting live from 2 to 6 p.m.

  • Booms & Blooms – Powell Gardens, Kingsville, MO – 9am to dark – children’s activities, ice cream, music at 4:30pm, Lee’s Summit Symphony at 7:30pm and fireworks to follow
  • KC Riverfest – Berkley Riverfront Park, KCMO – gates open at 1pm – festival food, live music, children’s area and FIREWORKS! (runs July 2nd & 3rd) Fireworks on the 2nd are a “preview” of the big show; fireworks on the 3rd are the “big show”! Display begins at 10:05pm both nights.

  • Missouri Town 1855 Independence Day – July 4th, 9am to 4:30pm – food, music, speeches and noon parade
  • Fort Osage – Sibley, MO – July 4th, 9am to 4:30pm – 1812-style Independence Day celebration with cannon and musket fire
  • Community Days Parade, Lenexa, KS – July 4th, beginning at 10am
  • Independence Day 19th Century Style -10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Join us for historic activities, 19th century baseball, music, a reading of the Declaration of Independence, and a cannon firing! Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy this all-American celebration. Free admission, suggested donations $2/adult, $1/child. Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop and Farm, 1200 Kansas City Rd., Olathe, www.mahaffie.org
  • Sugar Creek MO July 4th Parade – July 4th, 11am – on Sterling from Lexington to Putnam

Kansas City Area 4th of July Fireworks – 2010

OMG, Kansas City! Independence Day 2010 is just around the corner! As usual, it snuck up on us while we were busy with the pool and camps and baseball and all the other things that fill our Kansas City kids’ summers.

As usual, there are TONS of things to do for the Fourth of July around the Kansas City metro this year. The Royals are out of town this year for the Fourth but the T-Bones are in town all weekend! They’ll have a Family Fun Fest on Friday, July 2nd from 4pm to 7pm; fireworks after the Saturday, July 3rd game and after the Sunday, July 4th game.
