Win a pair of tickets to Seussical at Coterie Theatre!

Posted November 09, 2011 9:06am by Kiran

CONGRATULATIONS TO VERONICA!  She is our lucky ticket winner!!

Today we have a fantastic giveaway courtesy of our advertising partners at Coterie Theatre! One lucky winner will receive a pair of tickets to an upcoming performance of Seussical, plus a hardcover copy of Horton Hears a Who!

What is Seussical?  The plots of Horton Hears a Who and Horton Hatches the Egg are tunefully interwoven in this widely celebrated and critically acclaimed celebration of Dr. Seuss. The Coterie was credited in the New York Times for originating this version “for all ages”… a true family classic!

The show runs through December 31, 2011, and the winner will be able to attend a mutually-agreed upon showtime.  Coterie Theatre is located on Level 1 of Crown Center Shops in Kansas City, MO.  This would be a super fun way to spend a day at Crown Center during winter vacation!!

So, how to enter? Simply leave us a comment after this post and let us know what you are thankful for.  Thanksgiving is upon us…and it often gets lost in the retail shuffle between Halloween and Christmas.  I’m thankful for my healthy, happy family- and for my new nephew in St. Louis.  I’ve even got another nephew on the way!  Entries will be accepted through Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 9:00pm CDT.  GOOD LUCK!

Must be 18 years of age to enter and win. Only one entry per household will be considered. No substitutions or transfers. Giveaway prize is not redeemable for cash. By entering, winner consents to allow the use of his/her name for promotional purposes without further compensation. Winner releases all sponsors of liability regarding use and enjoyment of the prize. No purchase necessary to enter or win.

ONE (1) winner will be randomly selected, and will receive 2 tickets to an upcoming performance of Seussical (mutually agreed-upon date) and one hardcover copy of Horton Hears a Who.

SEA LIFE Aquarium and LEGOLAND…coming this spring!

Posted October 22, 2011 10:09pm by Kiran

Kansas City, MO Mayor Sly James recently proclaimed October 19th “K- SEA day” to commemorate the ground breaking of SEA LIFE Aquarium.  SEA LIFE Aquarium is located in Kansas City, Missouri at Crown Center and is expected to open in April 2012.

Mayor James and dignitaries from Merlin Entertainments and Crown Center dug into over 2 tons of sand after talking about how SEA LIFE Aquarium will  benefit Kansas City tourism, continue to revitalize downtown Kansas City and  increase employment opportunities in the Kansas City area.  For locals, it’s a welcome addition to our city!  My kids are thrilled and can hardly wait for this to open.  We’ve always enjoyed visits to Crown Center, and have spent many summer and winter days exploring the area.  This will be an amazing addition!

If that weren’t enough, did you know that Kansas City is also welcoming a LEGOLAND Discovery Center? Scheduled to open just behind SEA LIFE (in May 2012), this will be the fourth LEGOLAND Discovery Center in the United States.  To commemorate LEGOLAND Discovery Center’s groundbreaking earlier this month, twenty thousand LEGO bricks spilled to the ground outside the construction site!

Described as stepping into the biggest box of LEGO bricks in the world, the $15 million, 30,000-square-foot interactive attraction will feature a MINILAND® exhibit which recreates landmark buildings in Kansas City out of LEGO® bricks, hands-on play areas, a 4-D Cinema, master classes from the LEGO® Master Model Builder, rides, and special party rooms for birthdays and other celebrations.

The MINILAND exhibit will be amazing- and you can vote on your favorite KC landmarks to be memorialized in LEGOs! Vote from landmarks like Arrowhead Stadium, Kauffman Center, J. C. Nichols Fountain and Union Station.   The top 10 will be announced November 7th.  (Personally, I would like nothing more than to see the Country Club Plaza in LEGOs!)
