Kansas City and its surrounding areas are blessed with acres of wonderful greenspace. Our parks and playgrounds help make Kansas City a great place to raise our families. It seems like almost every neighborhood has a great park. We want to show you a few that are really special, even spectacular!

Blackbob Park – playground, swimming pool, miniature golf, batting cages, fishing pond, ballfields, picnic shelters (Olathe, KS)
Black Hoof Park and Lake Lenexa (Lenexa, KS) – boating and fishing lake
Cedar Lake Park (Olathe, KS) – playground, fishing, sand volleyball, picnic shelters
Electric Park (Lenexa, KS) – 2 playgrounds, open play area, horseshoe pits, sand volleyball, picnic shelter
Ernie Miller Park & Nature Center – 116 acres of trails and learning opportunities (Olathe, KS)
Flat Rock Creek Park (Lenexa, KS) – 2 swimming pools, tennis courts, playground
Frontier Park (Olathe, KS) – playground, small picnic shelter, ballfields, home to Olathe’s outdoor concerts
Heritage Park – picnic shelters, a 40 acre lake, marina with pedal boat and sailboard rentals, concessions, shelters and picnic areas, play areas, athletic fields for softball, football, soccer, and an 18-hole championship golf course and driving range (Olathe, KS)
I-Lan Park – great playground! (Leawood, KS)
Ironwoods Park - with Prairie Oak Nature Center and Oxford Schoolhouse and a playground too! (Leawood)
Kill Creek Park – picnic shelters, a swimming beach, a marina, and 17 miles of trails (Olathe, KS)
Lake Olathe (Olathe, KS) – playground, picnic shelters, fishing
Matt Taylor Park (Lenexa, KS) – 3 playgrounds, tennis and basketball courts, picnic shelters
Prairie Center Park (Olathe, KS) – playground, disc golf course, ballfields, fishing pond, short trail
Sar-Ko-Par Trails Park (Lenexa, KS) – pool, lake, picnic areas/shelters, trails, ballfields, courts, FIVE PLAYGROUNDS, local historical museum
Shawnee Mission Park - with swimming beach and marina (Shawnee, KS)
Stoll Park – athletic playing fields, a small fishing lake, picnic shelter, playground and a walking trail (south Overland Park, KS)
Tomahawk Park – ball fields and playgrounds (Leawood, KS)
Two Trails Park (Olathe, KS) – playground, skate park, short trail, ballfields, picnic shelters, tennis courts
Jackson County, MO
Loose Park (Kansas City, MO) – tons of green space, ducks, playground, splash park, beautiful gardens
Blue and Gray Park (7 miles south of I-70 on Buckner-Tarsney Rd)- 1733 acres and very popular for horseback riders, hikers and overnight camping.
Fleming Park (formerly Lake Jacomo)- located 15 minutes from KC, this is the largest of the Jackson County parks and features 2 lakes and 2 full-service marinas
Landahl Park (Independence, MO)- 2 miles east of MO7 on Truman Rd and popular with mountain bikers
Longview Lake Park (Lee’s Summit, MO)- I-470 at Raytown Rd. This is part of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and features a beach, marina and lots to do. You MUST check it out at Christmastime for the annual “Christmas in the Park” light extravaganza!
Penn Valley Park (Kansas City, MO) – home to the Liberty Memorial, did you know that Penn Valley Park also has a skate park?
Swope Park (Kansas City, MO) – This amazing park has been around for over 100 years – it offers golf courses, a pool, the Kansas City Zoo, the Lakeside Nature Center, Starlight Theatre and many picnic shelters and athletic fields
Platte County, MO
Barry-Platte Park (Kansas City north, MO) – several play structures, picnic shelters, ballfields, sand volleyball
Platte Ridge Park (Platte City, MO) – lots of ball fields, one play structure, trail around pond – brand new!
Clay County, MO
Dagg Park (North Kansas City, MO) – Great wading pool and playground, picnic shelters
Hodge Park (Kansas City north, MO) – two golf courses, Shoal Creek Living History Museum, amphitheatre and athletic fields
Macken Park (North Kansas City, MO) – two playgrounds, picnic shelters, ball fields, basketball courts and more
Penguin Park (Kansas City north, MO) – awesome playground! 26 foot kangaroo slide! 23 foot penguin that the kids can play inside! This is a MUST SEE!
