Another year, another farmers market guide, so you and your family can enjoy fresh, locally produced food and enjoy the fun that surrounds our many area markets this growing season!

Bonner Springs Farmers Market: Featuring fresh produce, homemade/locally grown meats, dairy, salsas and pickles, spices, and more! Open Saturdays, 8am-noon, beginning May 6; Kelly Murphy Park, Bonner Springs, Kansas 66012

Brookside Farmers Market: This is definitely a treat for anyone who wants farm-fresh, organic, local (within 100 miles) food. Saturdays, Apr 15-October, 8am-1pm; November, 9am-noon; 63rd St. & Wornall Road, KCMO

City Market: Features an eclectic mix of dining, shopping, entertainment and attractions, including concerts, festivals and other special events. April-October: Saturdays, 6am-3pm; Sundays, 8am-3pm; Wednesdays (June-August), 2-6pm; November-March: 8am-3pm; 20 E 5th St., KCMO (at the heart of KC’s River Market)

KCK Farmers Markets: Also known as KCK Green Market, this network of three KCK-area farmers markets features locally grown food, June-October, 7:30am until sold out at the following locations/days: Tuesdays, Catholic Charities, 2220 Central Ave., KCK; Wednesdays, 6th Street & Barnett, KCK; Thursdays: Campus Blvd & Argentine Ln., KCK

KC Organics Farmers Market: Organic family farmers offer a wide variety of locally produced and artisanal products. Saturdays, May-Oct; 8am-12:30pm; stay tuned for a new Leawood location. Minor Park, just East of Holmes on Red Bridge Road (111th Street), KCMO

Lee’s Summit Farmers Market: Located at the corner of Second & Douglas streets in Downtown Lee’s Summit, the market offers more than 50 vendors featuring a variety of fresh produce, plants, meat, baked goods, and handmade crafts. Apr 1-Nov 18; Wednesdays and Saturdays, 7am to sell-out. SE 2nd St & SE Douglas St, Lees Summit, MO 64063

Merriam Farmers Market: Baked goods, fresh produce and crafts, with easy walking trail access to Warner Park. Saturdays, May 6–Oct 14,  7am–1pm; Wednesdays, June 7-August 30, 5-8pm. Merriam Marketplace, 5740 Merriam Drive, Merriam, KS 66203

Olathe Farmers Market: Two locations offer regionally grown fresh produce, plants and fresh flowers. Shawnee Farmers Market: Offering a variety of farm-fresh produce. Saturdays, May-Oct, 7am-4pm; City Hall Parking Lot, Nieman Rd & Johnson Drive, Shawnee, KS
