In this time of rapid economic change, the value of entrepreneurs is higher than ever. Today’s teens are tomorrow’s business leaders. Some might go on to create the next Google or Microsoft. But entrepreneurship isn’t about just starting a business. It’s about identifying, seizing and exploiting opportunity. This course will show teens how to identify and evaluate business opportunities. It will teach them analytic frameworks for evaluating business ideas, and will guide them through the process of creating their own company. Students will work in teams to identify business needs, create a company to address those needs, do business and industry research, form a business plan and make presentations. Students will develop a sense of confidence, maturity, motivation and responsibility. They will learn how to follow, and how to lead.
