Hey everyone! Just wanted to let you know that the annual Ringling Brothers Circus Elephant/Animal Walk is scheduled for tomorrow morning (September 15, 2009) here in Kansas City!
The walk will take the circus animals from the trainyard behind (north of) Union Station to Sprint Center in downtown Kansas City. The animals and their handlers will walk the city streets at a VERY TENTATIVE 10:00am. The circus is only able to give about 30 minutes notice of the timing of this event. They’re shooting for 10:00 am – but were about an hour late last year, so don’t arrange your schedule around a definite start time.
I’ve attached a map of the route below – but it is basically 22nd Street east to Baltimore, north to 20th Street, east to Walnut, north to 19th Street, east to Oak and north to Sprint Center.
And don’t forget to buy your tickets to the circus – it will be at Sprint Center from September 16 through September 20! (Our discount has expired but tickets are still available! Visit sprintcenter.com for details!)
will they walk them from the sprint center back to the train when they leave town? if so, do you have any thoughts as to when?
