Narnia: The Exhibition at Kansas City’s Union Station (and a Ticket Giveaway!)

Posted July 07, 2009 11:49pm by Kate

****THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED. WINNERS WILL BE NOTIFIED VIA EMAIL.

THANKS FOR YOUR TREMENDOUS RESPONSE!****

I finally took my two older kids (ages 6 & 7) down to Union Station today to see Narnia: The Exhibition. The folks at Union Station were gracious enough to host us (and allow us to take my new Flip UltraHD Camcorder through the exhibit – which is usually strictly forbidden). My kids were excited as we recently read The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. We couldn’t have had a more terrific time.

I’ll let you see for yourself (apologies for some shaky camera work on my part…):

Click here for the KCKidsFun at Narnia the Exhibition video if you are unable to view it above.

The entire exhibit took us about an hour to tour. As I mentioned above, we’ve read the first book but we haven’t seen either of the recent movies (The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe or The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian). The kids were thrilled by the exhibit without having seen the movies (even the second half which referenced part of the Narnia chronicles that we haven’t even read about yet) – but I had to wonder if they would have been even more engaged had they seen the movies. A good portion of the exhibit was directly related to the films – via costumes, props or videos.

That being said, my kids were intrigued enough to ask me to buy the other books in the series (this one: The Chronicles of Narnia) in the gift shop adjacent to the exhibit. And, being the sucker for books that I am, I bought them. And a box of Turkish Delight.

In addition to allowing my family to run amok in the exhibit with a video camera, the folks at Union Station have given us ten (10) free passes to give to our readers. The Narnia exhibition runs through August 23 – so you’ve got plenty of time.

So, here’s what you need to do to enter the random drawing to win free passes to Narnia: The Exhibition(1) Submit a comment (just click the Comments link at the end of this post) with your first name, where you live and whether you’d like 2, 3 or 4 free passes to the exhibit if your name is drawn; (2) the form will require a valid email address which will NOT be made public with your comment; (3) that’s it! You’re entered!

RULES: Comments/entries must be submitted before 11:59pm CST on Tuesday, July 14, 2009. Winning entries will be chosen at random until all 10 passes are spoken for and the winners will be notified by KC Kids Fun via email.
