Two Fun Family Events at Crown Center

Posted April 24, 2009 9:06am by Kate

Crown Center has been a hotbed of family-friendly fun in Kansas City lately. The Wizard of Oz exhibit is winding down – but the good weather of spring and summer only means that the fun moves outside to Crown Center Square!

This Saturday, April 25th, Habitat for Humanity will be holding its Parade of Playhouses at Crown Center Square.  Twenty unique and fun playhouses will be on display and most of them will be auctioned as well – proceeds to benefit Habitat for Humanity.

The fun will run from 10am to 4pm – kids can enjoy the playhouses as well as inflatables and other great activities. Oh, did I mention that the fun is FREE?!?!

(While you’re at Crown Center Saturday, you’ll also want to check out Jiggles & Juggles at the Off Center Theatre at 10am – this week, you can catch magician Devin Henderson and Jim “Mr. Stinky Feet” Cosgrove!)

And the other event at Crown Center we wanted to remind you about is Jiggle Jam! Tickets are on sale now for this Memorial Day Weekend kids’ music festival. Check the Jiggle Jam website for details.

Last year’s inaugural event was a phenomenal success and all of the components that made the first Jiggle Jam fun are back in place. And there’s more!

The event is scheduled for May 23rd and 24th. You can catch They Might Be Giants, Dan Zanes, Justin Roberts, Trout Fishing in America and Recess Monkey as well as local favorites Mr. Stinky Feet and Funky Mama! A Wonderscope activity tent, loads of fun inflatables, and more will round out your Jiggle Jam experience.

So, head to Crown Center this spring!
