Spring has sprung in Kansas City and that means that the Easter Bunnies are making their annual appearance at the Country Club Plaza! These family-favorites have been making young and old alike happy since the 1930’s.  If you haven’t been to see them, you better get going…the bunnies are only around until Monday, April 13, 2009!  That’s this Monday!  And there’s the granddaddy of the parades…the Kansas City Easter Parade, which is now at Zona Rosa’s Town Square.  Be sure to shine your shoes and wear your Sunday’s best…this is a very traditional parade with honors going to “best dressed family”!!!

-Easter Bunny Puppet Show, 10am.  Lone Jack Library, Lone Jack, MO.

FRIDAY, APRIL 10, 2009

-Easter Bunny at Crown Center, 12-4pm.  Pictures available, BYOC (bring your own camera!) or purchase professional pictures.

-Eggstravaganza! 5pm, Leawood City Park (106th and Roe), Leawood, KS.  FREE for all, even free pictures with the Easter Bunny!  Egg hunts are on the soccer fields.

SATURDAY, APRIL 11, 2009

-Kansas City Easter Parade, 11am, Zona Rosa Town Square.  Time to sport your Sunday finest…this parade features a contest for “best dressed family”!!  Enjoy the bunny and other activities.

-Easter Family Fun Day, The Legends, Kansas City, KS.  Free!  See the Easter Bunny!

-YMCA Eggstravaganza, 10am.  Locations:  Olathe, Bonner Springs, Independence and Providence. Features a visit from the Easter Bunny, an egg hunt and other spring games.  $3/members, $5/non-members.

-Easter Egg Hunt, 9am, Grace Church, 8500 W. 159th St., Overland Park.

-Breakfast and Easter Egg Hunt, 9am,  Liberty, MO.  Toddlers through 5th graders will leave Second Baptist Church on 309 E Franklin and go to William Jewell College for the hunt.  Reservations at 816-781-2824.

-Traditional blessing of Easter Meal:  Bring a basket of your Easter celebration food to be blessed.  2pm, St. Cyril’s Church, 11231 Chicago, Sugar Creek, MO.

-Train Rides/Easter Egg Hunt at the Midland Railway in Baldwin City, KS.  (This is where Thomas the Tank Engine pulls into town!)  Take a train ride with the Easter Bunny.

-Eggstravaganza, 10am, Andersen Park, Mission, KS.  Bunnies, egg hunt, even a fire engine will be there!

-Breakfast with the Easter Bunny at Cafe Thyme, 9-1030am, Powell Gardens.  816-697-2600.

-Spring Fun Day, 2-330pm, Norfleet Baptist Church, 5512 Norfleet, KCMO.  Egg hunt!

-The Bunny Hop, 945am, City Hall Plaza, Lee’s Summit, MO.  Bring your best-decorated basket for a contest!

-YMCA Eggstravaganza, noon at the Vivion Road YMCA.  (Same setup as the other 4 previously listed, just at noon instead of 10am.)

-Bonnet Parade, 11am, Leavenworth, KS.  Traditional Easter fare:  parade, egg hunt, games, cake walk.  FREE!

-Ollie’s Egg Hunt, Paradise Park, Lee’s Summit, MO. Times vary, call for details.  816-246-5224.

SUNDAY, APRIL 12, 2009 (HAPPY EASTER!!!)

-Easter Egg Hunt, 2pm, Shatto Milk Company, Osborn, MO.  FREE!  Peter Rabbit will even be there!
