A big time for the kids in Kansas City this weekend – Saturday, May 17th and Sunday, May 18th (and even a few fun things on Thursday and Friday too!):

Thursday, May 15

Funky Mama at Wonderscope, Thursday, May 15 at 10 a.m.

M&I Movie Night at Briarcliff Village, Thursday, May 15 at dusk, between Trezo Mare and Nell Hill’s, this week’s movie – Ratatouille.  Bring your chairs and blankets!

Wonderscope LIVE!, Saturday, May 17 at the Kansas City Literary Festival on the Country Club Plaza.  Wonderscope is sponsoring the children’s area at this fantastic event.  Fun!

Merriam Turkey Creek Festival, Saturday, May 17, at 6501 Antioch in Merriam.  This runs from 10 am to 5pm.  The day will start with a pancake breakfast and a 5k run/walk.  Throughout the day, there will be arts & crafts, a petting zoo, pony rides, inflatables, train rides, pedal boat rides and concerts.

Liberty Heritage Festival, in historic downtown Liberty, MO, Saturday, May 17 from 9 am to 5 pm, check their website for great activities including a performance by Mr. Stinky Feet!

Stand of Colors Civil War Reenactment, at the park at 139th & Holmes in south KCMO on Saturday, May 17 and Sunday, May 18.  Tickets and parking are only available at a remote shuttle site near Bannister Mall.  Be sure to check out their website for ticket and parking details.

Gross Science: Get Into Gross! – Family Science Workshop at Science City, Union Station, Saturday, May 17 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.  The class is about 1 hour and 45 minutes.  Cost info and more details at the Science City website.

Leawood Fire and Police Department Day at Park Place shopping center in Leawood, KS.  Saturday, May 17 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.  K-9 demonstrations and Ladder and Rescue Unit demonstrations.  Free!

The Coterie Theatre at Crown Center presents Sideways Stories from Wayside School, runs through May 18
