A full (inexpensive) day at Crown Center!!

My son and I did one of our favorite things today–did the “circuit” at Crown Center and Union Station.  We go downtown and typically follow the same route, throwing in a few changes depending on the season.  Today went something like this:

  • Park at Union Station.  We saw Theatre For Young America’s production of “Miss Nelson Has A Field Day” located at the City Stage.  It was a great show, appealing to both boys and girls.  Ticket price was $8/each.  Show lasted one hour.
  • We then walked the big blue link to Crown Center…totally wears out the kids…and checked out the FREE interactive exhibit, “What Do You Want To Be?”  This changes every few months and is always lots of fun.  Located on the Food Court Level at the far end in the Showplace.
  • Lunch at Fritz’s Railroad Restaurant.  Kids love the tableside train-delivery of their burgers and fries!
  • We always head back through the Westin Hotel and ride the escalators up and down a few times before the grand finale–riding the glass elevator up to the 17th floor and back about 4 times.  The views of our newly-renovated downtown are fabulous!
  • Walk back through the blue link to Union Station…put wiped out kid in car!!!!
